THE SCULPTURAL MADEMOISELLE MDVANII
Between 1996 and 1998 there was created in secret an amazing novelty in the world of Mdvanii: the 23,5 inches high version of Mdvanii, in porcelain, called Mademoiselle Mdvanii.
This sculptural Mdvanii kept the same features than Mdvanii, with an enhanced Eastern-European-like expression. Her body was designed to be deliberately more voluptuous, with accentuated hips and a lot of sensuality, in the pin-up tradition. She has glass eyes with eye lashes and real hair. She is articulated at the head, the arms and shoulders, the waist, the hips and the knees. The feet are extremely arched and wear very high-heeled stilettos in the 1940’s fetish style. The graceful gesture of her fingers - which can hold a cigarette (a coloured Sobrani with gold tip of course) required nothing less that 17 different pieces in the mould!
Only five one-of-a-kind Mademoiselle Mdvanii dolls were officially made for the Fall, 1997, all SW Japan Exclusives. Each one of the dolls wore a fabulous high fashion garment, day suit and dresses and stunning evening gowns, each with great accessories. They came in leather suitcases bearing original travel stickers from the 1930’s, from all the famous palaces and resort places in Europe. The ensembles were: N°1 "Powder Puff", N°2 "Dangerous Curves", N° 3 "Snake Charmer", N°4/5 "Bleu Klein", N°6 "Queen Bee", N°7 "Gratte-Ciel", N°8 "Avenue Monceau", N°9 "Chromium", N° 10 " Gazon", N°11 "Cinecitta", N°12 "Boudoir", N°13 " Cascade", N° 14 "La vie en rose", N°15 et 16 "Eclipse", N°17 "Tempest Storm".
Mademoiselle Mdvanii has also been made in several stunning examples, including some in papier mâché and only one example as Dheei, with her very own features. (Mes Tissages). Soon featured on this page!

Other Mademoiselle Mdvanii dolls are part of the collection of the artists , including one dressed by Switzerland-based stylist Dalma Cameresi who dressed Mdvanii in a sumptuous evening gown in silvery fabric trimmed with black feathers.
In Europe, Mademoiselle Mdvanii was first introduced in the “Mdvanii, Memories from Earth” exhibition at the Maison d’Ailleurs, Museum of Science-fiction in Yverdon, Switzerland, as an alien woman going to a cosmic ball on planet earth (“Earth Walk”). Later, for the Midac exhibition (featured on this site) she was added a huge cape with obscene embroidery on it, to evoke the passing of time and the loss of meanings, such as languages in a futuristic world.
The latest Mademoiselle Mdvanii have used many fabric creations from Jakob Schlaepfer in St Gallen.
